Will Michael Mando take a break from 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' and return as the iconic bad guy?
Ubisoft has been busy on social media, teasing fans with two images that point to a follow up to 2012's Far Cry 3, complete with a return of the game's hyperactive psychopath Vaas Montenegro.
First was an instagram shot of a island with skull foundations, with a caption that roughly translates as "An Island that has never really left," on the company's French Instagram account. It followed that on its own Facebook page with a shot of Montenegro.
Vaas Montenegro wasn't the main guy in Far Cry 3 but was, for better or worse, it's unofficial spokesman, appearing on most of the promotional material. While he seemed to meet a grisly end in the game it wasn't 100 percent clear if he survived, and if anyone can come back from (spoilers) multiple stab wounds it's Vaas Montenegro.
This is a prime time for studios to reveal new games to get ahead of the E3 madness, and the last Far Cry game was Far Cry Primal in February 2016. That sent the series back to the Stone Age, so there's still room for a sequel to Montenegro's timeline.
Since his appearance in Far Cry 3 the actor who played Montenegro, Michael Mando, has been busy, appearing in Orphan Black, then Better Call Saul and soon in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Back in April he responded to a fan's tweet about returning to the role.
I would love to go back to the Video Game world when the right character and story comes along... until then, "have I ever told you..." https://t.co/Y6oIN51Y1H— Michael Mando (@MandoMichael) April 11, 2017
