Listen to the Official (but Tragic) Magikarp Pokémon Song

Did you know the Magikarp Pokémon has an official song? Well, it does, and now it's officially available in English. A tribute to the fishiest of the pocket monsters, it's also a melancholy reflection on the general useless of the Magikarp.

The Pokémon Company originally released the Magikarp music video last July in Japanese and it's a bittersweet tale of love and weakness. The water type Pokémon is great at splashing, not so great in battle, and only evolves into a Gyarados at level 20. "Magikarp is a pathetic excuse for a Pokémon that is only capable of flopping and splashing. This behavior prompted scientists to undertake research into it," says its official Pokémon description.
