General Rahm Kota

A Clone Wars general that escaped the slaughter of Order 66 due to the fact he apparently had no clone troopers serving with him at the time, Rahm Kota served as a convenient light-side counterpoint to Darth Vader in the mentoring of Galen "Starkiller" Marek during the events of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed and its sequel. Conceived as a grizzled, hard-drinking tough-guy Jedi Master, he's a stark contrast to the mystical beard-strokey Force-bearers that we're used to. Though much of the Jedi archetype draws on samurai for influence, Kota was possibly the most literal interpretation of a Ronin, right down to the armor, topknot and lightsaber strapped across his back. Kota was ultimately blinded in combat by Marek – a fact that has since fueled speculation that there's a connection between Kota and Freddie Prinze Jr.'s character Kanan Jarrus in Star Wars: Rebels. Sadly, this doesn't seem to be the case, but the notion that Jarrus could be a rewritten Kota and series lead Ezra Bridger a reimagined Starkiller would certainly be very exciting.
