Aliens: The Computer Game (1987)

Most games based on James Cameron's sequel exaggerate the action, with even bigger guns and more xenomorphs to slaughter. Aliens: The Computer Game, released on Amstrad, Commodore 64, and ZX Spectrum in 1987, remembered that Aliens was still a movie with a lot of death and trepidation in it. This game captured that perfectly. You switched between control of Ripley and each of the marines, seeing their helmet-cam views as they explored the game's 255 rooms in search of the Queen. Inevitably you got some of those characters killed and one by one their cams would be replaced by static, each sudden hiss of fuzz ratcheting your panic level up another notch.
