Brainiac

The launch trailer for Injustice 2 frames Brainiac as the threat for what appears to be a rich story mode. Superman for the Sega Genesis did so as well, minus the "rich story mode" part. Each level was a self-contained chapter with the "plot" laid out through a Daily Planet headline resulting in end-level boss fights with the Prankster, Metallo, and finally Brainiac in his spaceship. His fiendish plot: Kidnap Lois Lane. Why? Because evil, that's why. The manual hinted at some mumbo-jumbo about "a mental duel where only one can survive" – but then Supes just beats the crap out of Brainiac over a three-stage boss fight and all is well in the world.
