HBO series writer is working on Naughty Dog's post-apocalyptic sequel
HBO's robo-thriller Westworld just came to an end, and now one of its writers has revealed she's working on Naughty Dog's just announced sequel The Last Of Us Part 2.
Couldn't be prouder to be a part of this! https://t.co/hXSWa1QhoX— Halley Gross (@Grosstastic) December 3, 2016
Hayley Gross wrote Westworld episode 6 "The Adversary," which saw Teddy and The Man In Black kidnapped by Union soldiers and episode 7 "Trompe L'Oeil," which was when Bernard's secret was revealed. She also worked as a story editor on the second episode "Chestnut" featuring William and all-round asshole Logan, and third episode "The Stray," which saw Elsie and the security beefcake chase a rogue host.
Gross also wrote an episode for Cinemax crime drama Banshee, and has appeared as an actress in Broad City, The Good Wife and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
The quality of Gross' past work is another reason to be excited about The Last Of Us Part 2, which drew actual screams from the crowd when it was announced at the PlayStation Experience this weekend. "The first game, the core of it, the theme was really about the love between these two characters," says Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann. "This story is the counter of that, this story is about hate."
