Orisa and her Fusion Driver arrive, but the latest patch brings bad news for Ana fans
Omnic tank Orisa, the 24th hero (and the sixth tank) to join the Overwatch roster, arrives in the game today in a patch that is available on all platforms. She won't be available in competitive play until next week so Overwatchers have a chance to master her abilities and how to counter them.
Those abilities are:
Fusion Driver: "Orisa’s automatic projectile cannon delivers sustained damage, but slows her movement while she fires it."
Halt! "Orisa temporarily reduces damage she takes, and cannot be affected by action-impairing effects."
Fortify "Boosts her personal defense, reducing damage taken and making her unstoppable for a short time."
Protective Barrier "Orisa throws out a stationary barrier that can protect her and her allies from enemy fire."
Supercharger "Orisa deploys a device to increase damage inflicted by allies within her line of sight."
Keen-eyed Overwatch fans will also notice some changes to other characters in the patch. Blizzard has been particularly busy with its can of nerf. The damage from Ana's biotic rifle has been knocked down and the time that Winston's barrier will last has been shortened. Also, Bastion's damage resistance in sentry or tank form has dropped and Zarya's barriers no longer protect against knockback. Junket fans will be pleased to learn that his explosions no longer cause self-damage.
You can get deep into the specifics for all the characters in the patch notes on Blizzard's forum.
Fans are already jumping into the game, but sadly Xbox Live servers are causing issues for a some players.
