Japanese retailer will have 'Mario', 'Splatoon' and 'Zelda' designs in stock May 19
Nintendo is hot right now, and Japanese fashion brand Uniqlo is ready to make the most of it with a whole new range of Nintendo themed shirts, coming to stores in the US on May 19.
The designs were created as part of the Uniqlo Global T-Shirt Design Competition, which attracted over 16,000 entries. Shigeru Miyamoto himself helped pick out the top 25 to be turned into t-shirts. The new Nintendo collection features Super Mario, Pokemon, Star Fox, Pikmin, Zelda and more.
The competition launched back in June 2016. As well as getting to see their designs in stores around the world the first place design won $10,000 and second place scored $3000. Both also received a Miyamoto-signed Nintendo Switch. The remaining 23 designers got $500 each.
