Show creator Matt Groening and executive producer David X. Cohen are contributing to mobile gaming spin-off
The first teaser trailer is here for Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow, a mobile game created by game studio TinyCo (the people who brought you Family Guy: The Quest For Stuff and Marvel Avengers Academy) and the writers, producers and animators behind Futurama.
Matt Groening created Futurama after years on The Simpsons and the show debuted in 1999. He, his Curiosity Company, along with original Futurama producer David X. Cohen, the original writers and Rough Draft Studio all contributed to the new trailer, which is our first reunion with the Planet Express interplanetary delivery company since the show was cancelled in 2013.
"The beauty of the Futurama universe is its nearly endless potential for new stories chock-full of adventure, hilarity, and occasional crushing sadness (RIP Seymour)," says James Boyle, game director for Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow. says It's been an absolute blast working with Matt Groening, David X. Cohen, the Futurama writers & cast, and Rough Draft Studios to create brand new adventures with the Planet Express crew for Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow. Since we'd already gotten the band back together to work on the game, we couldn't pass up the opportunity to create new original animation as well. We're incredibly excited to share this with the world, and we've got even more exciting surprises coming in the next several weeks."
