Crowdfunding campaign is lagging, but creators of 'PaRappa The Rapper' and 'Gitaroo Man' still have time
We knew Project Rap Rabbit, the project from game designers Masaya Matsuura (PaRappa The Rapper, Vib-Ribbon) and Keiichi Yano (Gitaroo Man, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan) would be a story-driven, rhythm-action adventure, but this is the first time we've seen it in action.
The gameplay video comes just in time too, there are only ten days to go before time runs out on the game's $1.1 million crowdfunding goal, which will bring the game to to PlayStation 4 and Windows PC.
Right now it's only raised $175,000. "For this project Yano-san called me, and he had an idea to make a game through crowdfunding," says Matsuura in a Glixel interview. "At first, I was afraid to do that because I had never done it and lacked the experience, but I realized that maybe now is the time. So, we started discussing the project last November."
When asked what would happen if the game didn't meet it's goal, Yano said "I cry in my bed," he says. "I know that Matsuura-san and I would love to see this game come to fruition through one way or another. We're not thinking of it in terms of failure yet."
The Project Rap Rabbit Kickstarter ends on June 19.
