The game, which Bethesda dubs 'the original esport,' will also host a $1 million tournament at QuakeCon
BJ Blazkowicz, the protagonist of Wolfenstein (who's back and seemingly as bad as ever in The New Colossus), is joining the roster of playable characters in Quake Champions, in a move that we admittedly didn't see coming but makes complete sense in retrospect. Bethesda also announced three new maps, a weapon called the tri-bolt, and an esports tournament with a total prize pool of $1 million, in partnership with ESL. The tournament, which will feature 1v1 and 4v4 formats, will run from June 29 and culminate with a grand finals at QuakeCon starting August 24. Teams and players from North America and Europe will compete.
