The game creator and the star of 'Hannibal' and new game 'Death Stranding' talk food, back pain and Nicolas Winding Refn
Mads Mikkelsen, best known as sexy cannibal Hannibal, will star in Hideo Kojima's upcoming game Death Stranding, but as this latest video from Kojima Productions reveals, their relationship goes beyond professional and into adorable.
"Obviously he's a brilliant man and very very nice," says Mikkelsen of working with Kojima. "It's just an honor to be part of this. It's something that I've never done before and to do it straight in the super league is fantastic."
The two first met on Skype and then at Comic-con, says Kojima, and then finally watched a handball match in a sports bar in England.
"We're almost the same age, same generation," says Kojima of Mikkelsen. "So when we start talking about things we like they are almost the same: Steve McQueen, Bronson, Bruce Lee. As for movies we like, about three of our favorite movies were the same."
We learn that the Kojima Productions staff are so excited about the actor's presence that they're all talking in high voices and that Mikkelsen loves Japanese food. They also chat about Drive director Nicolas Winding Refn (who worked with Mikkelsen on Norse epic Valhalla Rising) and reveal Winding Refn's Japanese vocabulary is very limited.
