After a wait of more than a decade, Fire Emblem fans will get a new console game. Nintendo just announced that its new Switch will see a Fire Emblem title in 2018.

If you can't wait that long for a taste of the tactical RPG, Fire Emblem Warriors, a hack and slash take on the series, is coming in Fall for Nintendo Switch and 3DS. It's a follow up to Hyrule Warriors, which merged the characters of Zelda with the combat focused gameplay - stabbing, hitting, slicing - of Koei Tecmo's Dynasty Warriors series.

Also announced today was Fire Emblem Heroes, a mobile game. Like Super Mario Run the classic Nintendo series is headed for your smartphone, but unlike Mario, it'll debut on Android devices first. Fans can pre-register on Google Play right now, but the game won't be available until February 2. An iOS version will follow at an unspecified date.

Update: Nintendo later announced that Fire Emblem Heroes would be released simultaneously on iOS and Android.

If the voice introducing the Nintendo Direct video above sounds familiar it's because it belongs to Yuri Lowenthal. he's provided the vocal stylings for Davis in Titanfall 2, Matt Miller in Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell and Ricken in Fire Emblem Awakening.
