Switch is getting 'Payday 2,' 'Monopoly,' a standalone dock and new neon yellow Joy-cons
Nintendo just gave us a gave us a face full of new game details for its Switch and 3DS, as well as indepth looks at Arms and Splatoon 2. You can see the full presentation above but here are some of the highlights.
Arms, out on June 16, includes a character called Min Min with noodles for limbs. While this sounds like some sort of Kafka-esque nightmare she seems to be coping well with the handicap, battling competitors in a giant ramen bowl while her left arm turns into a dragon. I mean, sure.
Splatoon 2, out on July 21, is getting a new, equally bizarre mode called 'Salmon Run' and special 'Steelhead' boss salmon. It looks like a kind of horde mode where players fight fish and collect their eggs.
Other games revealed during the show for Switch included Payday 2, Monopoly, Sine Mora EX and BattleChasers: Nightwar. There's also a Puyo Puyo Tetris demo arriving online today. Nintendo 3DS owners weren't forgotten, Hey Pikmin is a new platformer that will launch on July 28 and Monster Hunter Stories will be out in fall.
Hardware-wise Switch fans can grab a spare, standalone dock on May 19, but Nintendo did mention "limited quantities." You'll be able to boost Joy-con battery life with new add on boosters that run on AA batteries and there's new neon yellow Joy-con too, that will launch with Arms.
