Science-fantasy RPG gets an interactive quest trailer
Torment: Tides of Numenera isn't out until February 28, but you can get a taste of the RPG's questing fun through a new interactive trailer.
The game is set on Earth, a billion years in the future, and in this particular storyline you're asked to help in a scenario involving a biomechanical beast called a nychthemeron. Creative lead on the game Colin McComb talks you through the choices and there are seven different outcomes depending on what you do. Try it for yourself above.
It's a smart way to show off Torment: Tides of Numenera, which is a "philosophical role-playing game" according to McComb, and features a lot of conversations, a lot of dilemmas and a lot of consequences. McComb says that these consequences have different impacts in the game and what might seem like a failure at first can actually work out to the player's advantage.
Torment: Tides of Numenera is being developed by inXile Entertainment for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. The game raised over $4 million for its development on crowdfunding site Kickstarter.
